Central Iowa | We currently have all our acres custom sprayed but are wanting to start spraying our own. We farm 1600 acres with 2/3 corn and 1/3 soybeans. Total acres sprayed/year with all passes would be about 3000. This does include fungicide on all the beans. We do have a good amount of waterways and do farm rolling ground. I am looking at going to a mounted sprayer on an MT Challenger. I've also looked at self-propelled rigs but don't know if I can justify the cost. How will the MT's be for maneuverability? Also how well do they work for row-crop spraying? Am I just kidding myself by not going to a self-propelled? | |
