Highland Center, in Southeast Iowa

I have a lot of respect for folks who choose to do that kind of work and are committed to doing it well.  I read terms like "mothering ability" and "landrace" and "pasture farrowing" and my brain registers "will eat your left leg off at the hip if a pig squeals".   We pasture farrowed in spring and fall for years, and I tried working pigs sitting spraddle-legged in the door of the A-shed while the sows were up on the feeding floor eating.............subliminal death wish?   We did wean fairly decent sized litters most of the time, so were successful from that standpoint, but way too labor-intensive.....we were spread too thin.   I wish these folks all the success in the world on their venture.
