Subject: Re: small engine exhaust directional pipe

Near-north Ontario, French River
At our hunt camp we used a short length of flexpipe to route the exhaust ( more so the noise) through the tin wall of the lean-to where we housed the generator. The structure was open one side and it seemed like it amplified and the directed the sound directly at the cabin. Instead of physically turning the shack that housed the gen set, we just routed it out the back wall. I think they got the flex pipe at a muffler shop. In your case I don't see why you couldn't wrap the flex pipe in insulation, the proper type of course, if you needed to shield certain areas from direct heat.
