Subject: RE: Round up Corn

Too much yield lag in our area vs pre-emerge conventional. I haven't found a good enough selection that will give me the quality of grain I desire either. Not to mention more problems with those weeds pulling away more water that we haven't been able to get the past few years. There's also the palatability issue if it's used for corn silage. Many have proven cattle will refuse the cobs and longer fibers of RR corn vs conventional. It's got a place, but not in every field every year. In my opinion, if there's no perennial weed problem, I'll stay away from it and out-profit that system with pre-emerge every year.
