South Dakota | I am showing my ignorance....I know they catch live salmon in shallow water but I always though they were eaters of carrion like vultures. I know they eat rodents. I see them eating dead things on the road. I have seen red tails killing pheasants on the fly. I have a cougar who lives in my area for 3 years but nobody has lost a calf yet. My cows have so little maternal traits they wouldn't protect a calf from anything except me.
