Southern MN | I had two top links (3rd arms) stuck for many years. Over the winter I let diesel fuel soak the threads. I didn't sink the whole arm in diesel, I just set the arm vertically and put a small amount of diesel in places where gravity would pull it down through the threads. In the spring, I put it back on the tractor and with the help of a 4 or 5 foot long pipe for leverage, I was able to turn the link apart. Didn't use any heat. Once apart, cleaned the threads with a wire brush and now they turn easily by hand. Now I keep the threads clean to prevent that from happening again. | |
