IMO, pushing the lambs to target weight by June 26 is a good plan. The later summer heat in July and August can be brutal in the Dakotas.
Sheep deal with cold a lot better than heat especially when their fleece grows out. In late summer heat lambs would just be hunting up shade and not eating or gaining much.
Of course, now it's only April and Sheep Herder's sheep are already looking for shade LOL!
