central - east central Minnesota - | WTXCottonguy - 4/1/2012 22:41 Ive seen these giant cardboard bales sitting outside of grocery stores and wal-mart. Do they sell those or just throw them away? We go through a lot of boxes from chemical jugs and what not. I wonder if there is a market for them? or are they using the bales as a convenient way to handle the large number of boxes on the way to the dump?
There is a market for cardboard . . . . All those bales of cardboard are money makers. I'm not sure what the going rate is now, but where I used to work, we made about 3 bales a day and at the end of month, after the recycler pickedup the bales, we used to get a check for around $1500 - $2000 bucks. There was a time in the mid 80's where it only payed for the recycler to pick it up . . . there were other times it payed more then 2k.
