| I forgot to answer your question about Vista. In my opinion, Vista sucks as an operating system. But, it is been available to developers for well over a year, and is the default OS installed on all boxes purchased after Jan 1. So... it is a fact of life that all software developers have to live with. I don't fault any existing appliction that would not work on Vista. I do think that any company building a new technology app has a responsibility to make that app work well on Vista (and Apex 2.0 appears to have been updated to the latest technology... .Net 2.0). Personally, I'm not proficient enough in the different Vista versions to understand exactly what does and does not cause problems relative to Vista's opinion on where files shold be stored, user permissions, etc. But with Deere's resources, I would have expected them to know this stuff inside out. I'm guessing that Apex works fine on Vista, if you find the right Stellar Support person. |
