geez givin all my trade secerats away-Captain overkill should have that figured out-LOL,I use the 2x8's that I pour the form as my inside boards to the cattle-space 16inchs then bolt the guard rail on top-you might want to turn your guard rail the other way compare to mine as I;m doing it wrong for 30 years-those cattle are going to rub the hair off there neck-have very seldom seen it though? on the outside bunk we use 2-2x12's,we leave about 24 inchs between the boards, and make sure you leave the Irons on the outside of the boards, makes easier scooping of snow!
Hopefully captain overkill has your galvanizied post's at 8ft o.c. so that you can use 2x8's 16 ft long and trim the 1inch off the bad side-
I like southern yellow pine treated on the 2x8 and douglus fir on the 2x12's-we have been using 5/8 galvanizied bolts from a electric pole contractor for $1.45 a piece and a flat2x1/2 flat iron for a large washer-just wack it in the ironworker and punch the holes to make those!
Is your 6 bag = to 3000psi or 4000 every concrete guy is different?
