Chariton Iowa | Have a lamb that went down today. He can't stand. Pick him up and when his weight gets on his legs they are just like rubber, they fold under him. when holding him his head will go straight down like he would graze, not off to the side or uncontrolled movement. What gets me is his eyes are wide and very bight and his ears are alert and up. He is not pot bellied at all, his urine is clear and seen it pee twice.
He is a mid late feb lamb I guess him at 40 lbs still with the ewe and are creeped out on grass pasture.
Worked two weeks ago with C&D antitoxin, tetnus and ivomec injectable. cut tail and banded testicles.
He tries to move but just gets spun around. he tried some milk when we fed an orphan, about 6 ounces. I gave some long actin pennicillon. Just gets me cause he looks like he feels good other than his legs are weak.
thought tetnus/lockjaw but doen't appear like what I seen before.
