Driftless SW Wisconsin

The calf pictured was not backwards, it just looked like he had his right foreleg bent back when I first found him. The "wrist" joint on his right leg just would not stay straight for a couple days. Here is another picture of his leg and his heifer dam right after he was born. He and dam were ok but he just couldnt move around on that right front leg to nurse. And heifers being heifers the dam had no idea... I put them both in the corral for a few days and everything worked out all right.

Jim at Dawn

This one was born 3/20/11 and is now grazing corn. Will be going to the processor around 4/16 just short of 13 months. Probably weighs around 950-975 now (guessing, I haven't weighed the steers recently) and hopefully 1000+ by mid April.
