| It's very hard to compare umbrella policies as they depend on the underlying risk. Most will want you to carry max liab coverage on each auto or at least $300,000. I already have $1,000,000 on the farm and $500,000 on each auto. Country Fincl wanted $725 for 1M and $1300 for 2M umbrella. They told me I have too many cars. The 1M umbrella would add to the farm and to each auto. It also includes some other coverages such as slander.
3 or 4 years ago when I checked, they wanted $400 or $450 for the 1M umbrella, so cost has gone up. 20 years ago I used to carry a 1M umbrella for $100. | |
