| Depending on the year and engine model what is the difference between a Mercedes MBE and a Detroit Diesel? Answer: NOTHING! Need more information from the original post to determine that. Freightliner/Detroit/Daimler Benz = All the same company.
On the other hand if it's, oh, say, a DD13. That is just a post 2011 Mercedes designed engine. They are awesome if you like changing timing gears, at 20,000 a set who wouldn't want to change them every 250K?
