I'm sorry I didn't see your post sooner. I went in '99, and had a friend that went a couple years later. It was an unbelievable experience. For me, it was the first time I had met so many people my age that were so excited about farming. This was before $6 corn and everyone is excited! I still keep in touch with a couple guys from there and I just recently saw one of them on the cover of a farm magazine. Kind of cool to say, "I know him." Back in the day, Dupont/Pioneer was more involved in putting it on than the FFA. I'm sure they're still involved, but I don't think they are as much as they used to be. Is it still held in Des Moines? How many applicants do they accept? There were 40 of us when I went. I say go for it and let us know if you get in.
Good luck,
Erik
