Last July 130 lb fat lambs were bringing $2.04 a pound, that's $267 a lamb.   Someone has fed those lambs another 8 months plus did the management on the breeding program.  Add in what those 8 months of work and expense is worth and that's what I would hope they would be valued at.

With the price of fat lambs, it's too the point does anyone want to even fool around developing breeding stock?
