Faunsdale, AL | I think the formula is basically how much milk (actual) is made per lactation adjusted to a 12 month calving interval. I don't think there is any adjustment for age of the cows etc like there is in Mature Equivalent production results.
If you have a dry period average of 60 days, then the 305 day number makes sense, but if it's some other number, then the 305 doesn't fit.
The average DIM at last dry off is useful, if you know how long your average dry period is you can get the calving interval and use that ratio to adjust average lactation yield back to 12 months.
