First, why did you take E-470 between the airport and I-70, Pena Blvd is basically a 65mph interstate and joins with I-70, no tolls.
Yeah, E-470 got rid of the toll booths a couple of years ago in favor of "license plate tolls". Basically, you probably drove past an old toll booth station, and the camera took a picture of your plate there. It's not a fine or anything, just the normal toll. They claimed they did this to cut costs, but still keep raising the tolls each year.
And if we don't get no tolls, we don't eat no rolls. :)
I learned about that early toll system the hard way. I blew 2 toll stations and got 130 dollers in tickets. The kicker was infractions 5 minutes apart had tickets numbered 200 apart. Thought they must have been making pretty good money on newbie airport customers. |
