S.E. Iowa | We have so much to be thankful for! I am not a veteran. They are in a class above me. We buried a hero last week his name was Dick Morrison, I knew him in passing only my dad knew him. He was captured behind enemy lines in Korea, POW for 2 1/2 years. He buried fellow prisoners that had been stacked up like cordwood because it was too frozen to bury. He recieved a Purple Heart confirmation paperwork a couple of days before he died. The medal arrived in Des moines at 1 PM UPS brought it to Burlington the local managers wife took it to his home just after hearse left. He missed it by 3 hours. The man didnt ask for much, came home married his wife had a family, he was productive with his life and paid taxes. It just irks me that so many do nothing and expect everything and people that do everything expect nothing. THANK YOU DICK AND THANK YOU VETERANS!!! | |
