You're probably right. Looking at the online parts manual, there is a cable going from the pedal. My shop manuals are out in the shed and I might not get out there for a couple days. As for the small accumulator; I'm pretty sure they added it on one of the update visits which included the AC and also brake issues. I'll check it to see where it's plumbed in.
