Subject: corn on corn tillage

I am going to try some corn on corn this year, I'm trying to decide what my best spring tillage options are, the corn was harvested using a non chopping corn head, and was chiseled in the fall with a Jd 1710A chisel with disks up front, since the stalks were very dry and fluffy the disks on the chisel did not do a good job at sizing the residue, I would guess 1/2 of the residue was left on top, would it be best to run across with a disk and than a field cultivator, or would two passes with the cultivator work, I am concerned that the cultivator will bring the buried residue to the top and also residue flow thru the cultivator, I do not own a soil finisher but would that be a better option, Using a JD 1760 planter with row cleaners, North East Iowa, well drained lighter soils, any help appreciated, Thanks
