| I did that during the drought of 1988. Had a 1250 gallon tank on a truck and every night I would pick up the truck and take it home to refill and take it back first thing in the morning. I had a 300 gallon tank at the pasture. On thing I did learn, if the pasture tank was empty when I got there and the cows were close by, don't hook up the hose with the float on. It doesn't fill fast enough, or at least mine didn't and the cows will push the tank around. Almost tore off the hose. On those days, I spun the float valve off, filled the tank, and then reconnected. It got us through the summer. We grazed a lot of Fish and Wildlife land that had no water but plenty of grass. |
