Western Iowa | An hourly rate is the best, and remember you have a little 120, not a 270.
The $1 a foot sounds high to me, I can dig a lot more than a 100ft in an hour, should be able to do a mile in a couple days with your machine (unless it is real bad conditions), and a short day with the dozer in a few months leveling out the dirt. About a grand a day per machine and I come up with around $3000 to do that job. About $0.60 a foot.
And I am not trying to insult anyone, but if you can't dig that much in a day with a hoe, you shouldn't be out charging for your services. I have run and owned several hoes, and I am pretty fast, faster than almost any farmer, but the good contractors around here can eat me for lunch when it comes to speed. | |
