Assuming we are talking liquid, I've never really had a problem with plugging a liquid tube on a sidedress applicator. Tubes are large enough, flows high enough, that a strainer will usually take care of anything that would plug it up. So not real sure if I'd go thru the expense of a Wilger, or similar set-up. If you eliminate that part, you can really clean up the plumbing on a sidedress bar.
For 60', use 1" hose to make up the manifold, and teejet diaphragm nozzle bodies for drop/regulating points. Orifice in the bodies to regulate flow, the check valve eliminates long charge times, and you get rid of a huge amount of hose that will get pinched somewhere. You also have the option of splitting the bar into sections with control valves. If you do split it into sections, the main hose can be reduced to 3/4 for the manifold, figuring at least 2 sections. | |
