Subject: How far can a load stick out past the back of a pickup?

Faunsdale, AL
Need to haul a light pickup head across several states on the back of a 1 ton extended cab flatbed. I don't think the weight and balance are going to be a problem, but it will stick out about 6 feet past the back of the bed.

Will I attract every DOT, highway patrolman and sheriff's deputy that I pass along the way if I simply flag it? What about magnetic lights attached onto it? Will that help?
