The 7 gpm times 231 (cubic inches in a gallon) will tell you how many inches of oil flow per minute. Then, decide the speed of the driven application in rpm. Divide the flow by the rpm and you will get the cubic inch displacement of the motor.

Example; 300 rpm desired speed; 7x231=1617 cu in per min divided by 300 = 5.31 ci motor

Once you get it all done and put a load on it, you will find out if 900 psi is adequate.

For me, it is easier to build the unit than to go through the calculations to see what the operating pressure will be in advance.
