I bought a new Hypertherm 45 last fall for $1,500 +tax & really like it. I don't remember the cutting size it does but if you are wanting to do one inch material you will probably have to go to a bigger size. Very seldom would I ever have a need to cut something that thick. If I did I'd just use the regular torch.
