CENTRAL ILLINIOS | that is a good question. Down here (Illinois) we have done a fair amount of fall tillage in the winter over the years on frozen ground. On our soils we can get away with sins against the soil in the fall that would cause hell if we tried the same thing in the spring. (working too wet). So that is something to watch in the late winter - after about mid February we don't get deep enough frost to help out on the compaction some years. | |
