Wolcottville,Indiana | Friske, lubriplate 1200-2 for about 50 years now, buddy called it banana oil but works, Dad had a JD 12A combine and the top elevator bears would burn out with the green coop grease but not with the lubriplate, gas man put the green grease on his truck manfold and it would sit there and the lubriplate would run off, after several sets of bearings lubriplate was all that we used, Found out later that the green grease had earth filler, (clay) in it and that is why it did not run off the manfold the dirt would just sit on top and not melt. but was in the 50's so a lot has changed but still use the white grease, Chuck | |
