Subject: repainting corn snoots...

Evening All - Ive got a 1980 843 corn head that works quite well for us but the snoots are getting scraped down to the metal. I would like to repaint the snoots but I dont have much painting experience. Should I sandblast the snoots then prime them and spray a single stage spray on them? I would like to make it fairly durable to provide some wear protection for the tin. Should I just paint over the old paint and prime the shiny spots then paint over it all?

Any advice appreciated.
