Subject: PTO generator problem

Carter Montana
My 15KW Onan 15-OYD pto generator (1PH) is putting out under voltage at 540 RPM. It reads 39 volts on the 110 volt outlet. If I kick it up as high as 650 RPM or so I get 44-45 volts on the circuit. It does change with RPM and seems very stable. The voltmeter on it reads somewhat higher 20-25 volts than the 110 circuit. It's an 83' vintage and Im wondering if a new style regulator would be better than rebuilding the old one. 15 KW would be enough for me if would work properly. The parts are becoming obsolete and expensive.
