We go with the larger displacement CAT or Cummins engines, 9 or 13 speeds, air ride, and Paccar. However there a lot of others that will get the job done. One can easily be overwhelmed with the widely varied choices, and prices. Determine you wants and needs, mileage run, drivers, trailers used, room to get around, parts and service availability, and even appearance. If possible, find someone that has the knowledge and experience, that you can trust, to help and advise you.
Not much call for a 265" wheelbase, double bunk, 600 hp, 18 speed truck to run under 2,500 miles hauling out of the field a few miles for a few weeks a year. | |
