SC Iowa | I don't think that "take advantage of me with a bad basis" concept has a lot of validity
think about it......you put up a bin using the Cargill program and are committed for 2-3 years.......but will have the bin for decades.......what possible good would it do to create animosity with someone you want to have a long-term relationship with??
At the worst, bids are based off posted bids for all corn being delivered...
to be honest, in our local pro-pricing and bin program transactions, the supplier is more likely to get a better basis than the posted bid
interesting to read the various perspectives.....but sure would say that those who signed up for bin programs in 2004/2005 time period just before "everything changed" went through some trying times......many of these programs are now structured to adapt more quickly to changes in year 2 and 3 of the program......it's been a learning experience....for everyone | |
