Subject: Re: Big plunge in shipping rates.

Lubbock, Texas
if we had an intelligent and forward looking government we could be building an industry here in the USA breaking ships stimulated by breaking up all the turds in the ready reserve rust fleet and helping that industry make the types of high tech long term investments based on the guarantee of breaking up all of our old junkers rusting away that would allow the USA to compete with the ever more scarce third world hell holes that break them right on the beaches

India is shutting some of them down (Bangladesh probably never will close theirs, but it is near impossible to do business long term in that hell hole) so the USA has a chance to move an industry from small and yesteryear to very large and high tech.....look for Korea or some former soviet block country to figure it out first though

I suppose we could even buy a few new ships to replace the ready reservers we break, but I prefer to have them built here in the USA.....but now that our USA ship building relies on Government contracts only for the most part......well they just can't compete and are over priced....funny how that works

we can't compete breaking them or making them because our government flubs it every time, time and again
