I believe if you try to change the calibration by too much, it will give you that message. If I remember right, you can enter a weight that is closer to what the computer is estimating the weight to be. The computer will then adjust the accepted calibration range so you can enter the correct weight. You might have to do this several times to finally get the right weight entered.
