MB | The exact same thing has happened to me before on a 2000 8104. Check the wire that connects to the door ajar sensor/switch to make sure it has a good connection. It's just below the handle I believe. There may be a way of simply hot wiring it too if the switch is faulty. New parts from Agco are way overpriced. For example, i was quoted $470 for the steering wheel tilt 'assembly' when all I needed was the gas shock. I was able to find just the shock from a different supplier nearby for $72.
I know what you mean about that beeper being very annoying. I've never found it. I think it's built into the dashboard cluster. It's probably easier to just fix the problem. | |
