NW Iowa
Are you talking in a corn/corn rotation or corn/soy rotation? Around 300,000 to 350,000 gallons out of a 2400 hd building. actual #'s last year were 287,000 gallons on 66 acres, on a corn/soy rotation. The gallons were a little low last year due to having breeding stock in that building for one turn. I don't believe it was full. This also depends on the the operator...how fussy he his with wasting water. Some people just don't care.
I think you could plan on covering an 80- 100 acres. One this we've found out, at least in our area, is you don't want to cut rates to much. Last year we had some problems by trying to covering more acres, and this year there is some local fields that have suffered also.
