West Union, Illinois

pbutler - Farm Bureau meeting figured out I guess we don't need UCR for grain to local elevator
That isn't what Farm Bureau says for most farmers.  If all your grain (I'm lumping soybeans with grain because for this discussion it is the same thing) goes to an ethanol plant, feed lot, or soybean processor then you are correct.

If it may be reasonably expected (You don't have to KNOW. It doesn't have to be shipped out of state.  You don't have to own it when it is shipped out of state.  It just may be reasonably expected to cross a state line without being made into some other product) ANY of the grain you are delivering may be shipped out of state without processing you are supposed to have a UCR.

I don't like it.  I don't agree with it.  It's just how it is.
