Could be a no. of things. Is the dog losing hair? If so vet should do a skin scrape for mange. Sarcoptic mange is pretty easy to rid but Demodeptic can be REALLY tough to rid. My guess would be a good flea dip to start with. Happy Jack flea products work fairly well, then go to a monthly product that you put on the back of their neck called Frontline. Works good.
