Central Ontario | During corn planting this spring had 3 bags of seed in back of my pickup truck. During the night had strong wind and heavy rain. The tonneau cover wasn't latched, blew opened and the bags of seed got wet.
When I found the wet bags in the morning I wasn't to concerned as I thought the bags had a plastic liner inside them. Seed was in the back of truck for about 4 days under the black tonneau cover before ground was fit to plant again. When I dumped the seed into the planter you can see in the picture below a majority of the kernels had began to sprout.
Conclusion: The sprouted seed planted and emerged fine. The rows with the wet seed was full leaf ahead of the rows with dry seed.
