Subject: Renting land then having it custom farmed

First off I will say that this is hypothetical. Other than custom spraying I do all my work myself and any other land I would aquire would be the same story.

From a land-lord's standpoint, and I'm not talking about some middle aged city people that inherited the land and just take the rent check and do nothing else, I'm talking about renting a piece of ground from a farmer who has just required and lives right there.

If you were him and you saw your tennant have someone else, and I'm not talking about a hired man running his equipment but a totally different farmer, come in and do any sort of tillage, planting, spraying, combining, or all of the above, would you be very impressed?

My theory is, if you rent the land, you farm it, unless yóu come down with a serious illness or extreme equipment failure.

What are your thoughts?
