NNW Nebraska | The reason I never sold at $7 is I have had almost complete loss to hail more than once. Therefore I don't like to sell to much before I know I have something to put in the bin. By the time the hail danger was past, so was the high prices. I have witnessed neighbors who sold 1/2 or 3/4 what they expected to get and came up short the same time as the price increased lots. The corn I have in the bin now may not be worth $5.00, but I still think it will be worth more than that before the next crop comes in.
What about selling ahead and getting mixed up in the buyers bankruptcy or a MF Global gig? I will take some chances on what I have left rather than putting all my eggs in the same basket. OK call me a fool, but I still got corn in my bin that someone else s bankruptcy won't be getting so easy. | |
