I agree and had figured I would make that offer as well.  I could even offer to trade them an acre or so of useable pasture on the other side of their property.  From their perspective though I just doubt if they would be willing to sell a "meandered" parcel jutting into the side of their ground. Even if no fences were built and they still had full use of it, it wouldn't be "theirs".   In order to get a rectangular parcel and not "orphan" a small open patch on the other side of the ditch I would have to buy 5 or 6 acres it looks like.  I'm not opposed to that either but pretty sure they don't want to sell over 20% of their property....
