Subject: RE: Dawn closers?

NE Indiana
We farm some muck soils that are very soft and light, even in no-till. The Dawn Curvetines would throw seed out of the furrow sometimes. I think Dawn makes a depth band and that might help. I was running them next to Thompson wheels from Exapta and the Thompson wheels worked much better. In firmer conditions both brands worked fine.

In the attached picture the row that was closed with the Curvetine is in the center. You can see the gaps and the plants growing to the side where they were tossed out of the furrow.

I don't want to bash the Curvetine too much, these are very extreme conditions.
