Colby, Kansas | Have a 6100 4 row for planting large plots, have nothing on it. Have had good stands no-tilled into 80 bu stripper wheat stubble. I'm sure you know your conditions better than I, so you may indeed need something up front, but just some food for thought.
In my experience, at least planting into wheat stubble, row cleaners typically cause us more headaches than not because you typically only get one chance to go through the stubble without detaching it from the surface, you burn that one chance with your row cleaners so then the stubble is detached from the soil and somewhat fluffed causing more problems for the planter row unit. On this planter, if it's not absolutely necessary to be going 2x2 with the planter we'll raise the fert coulters clear out of the way so that were not detaching stubble that way either.
But if most of your planting is back into corn stalks then I could potentially see your desire for row cleaners.
