They leak, bind up and get stuck, and then there are water stains to deal with. A good shower rod and curtain works for me and then the wife can buy new curtains and change the design when she sees fit.

I double quoted . . . wife always had shower doors growing up and in our first home we built, that's what she expected . . . when we remodeled our second home (moved to different farm/location), I talked her into show curtian - She's the happiest she's ever been, when it comes to cleaning the shower . . . She does throw the curtain in the wash, but after a bit, she simply gets a new one and throws the old. . . . most sanitay,easy task there is. Plus, she thinks she has redecorated a bit . .. makes her happy ~
