Sorry-I added an Edit at bottom of post-see part about chopping stalks.

I will say after returning that 7 year field to beans after 1 year almost all of that corn residue in that picture above is GONE. It looks just like any other bean stubble field. That blows me a away.

I am planning now to return to multiple years of COC-depending on how much chopping stalks or otherwise can help I will probably rotate beans in every few years.

Point of that experiment was to raise OM levels on this field-it was low when I got it 8 years ago. Waiting soil test results from this year-hopefully we added at least some OM.
