Rolla, ND | You do realize almonds have an outer hull, then a tough shell and then the meat? As they fall from the tree, they do look different than in the store.
Pollination is the big thing to get a good set. There are self pollinating, as in don't need bees, almonds but they have thinker shells and less meat. I know California is working on improving them because the hit that honeybees are taking has them scared. Scraping together a million colonies isn't getting easier.
