| I don't think the wavy "notill coulters" are a benefit and are another cause of drive skipping mentioned by Jim and me above. Jim convinced me that straight coulters (which I also used to open a slot for fertilizer knives) simply to cut the stover so the trash whippers could spread that stover were more appropriate. The wavy "notill coulters" under damp soil conditions (common Iowa springs) can fill up and turn into packing and planter lift wheels. They don't fracture the soil when they don't penetrate and the soil is soft anyway.
