I hope Tara has some good advice on this subject as I have been thinking the opposite as you. I was thinking that there is a good potential to be short of corn this summer and I also think there could be a lot of acres of corn planted next year so there is no incentive for Dec of 12 to go up as much as July. I have been thinking of playing the spread and buying July and selling Dec 12.

If you are talking about selling Dec 12 and rolling into Dec of 13 that is completely different. Sorry to chime in on your post, but I was hoping to hear some more ideas too.
